Why did I decide to create this site?
This website was created for the sole purpose so that I could reach out to people all over the world. I always see people in need of health and fitness education and it pains me to not be able to help them and push them to their goals. However, now with the Scott Herman Fitness community, members can not only come to this website for helpful information, but can interact with each other and build the ultimate support system. Scott Herman Fitness is going to revolutionize the fitness world and I am very excited to help reach your goals together!

How it all Began
I have always been fascinated with the fact that I could push myself to become stronger, faster and better. I played an abundance of sports growing up such as baseball, soccer, football, basketball, I ran cross country and I also wrestled and practiced mixed martial arts. However my true love is the gym.

I have dedicated my life to fitness since I was about twelve years old. It was around that age that I found my father’s old weight equipment in the basement and my passion was born. To me, fitness was something that I could own, it was mine, no one could take it from me and I could work at it as hard as I wanted. As I grew older my love for fitness grew as well at the age of fourteen I got my first job at Gold’s Gym. I was lucky enough to work with a great bunch of people, including members, who guided me and helped me learn proper techniques, great eating habits, and what supplements I should take. They, as well as my family, also helped me to grow up to be a very well rounded and respectable man. While working full time throughout high school and college I was able to gain a vast amount of knowledge which I enjoy sharing with as many people as I can. I believe that everyone should incorporate fitness into their lifestyle and I am going to make sure that if no other support system exists; my site will always be there!

Hobbies/Interests
Aside from everything to do with the gym and fitness lifestyle; I enjoy doing a little bit of everything else like trying to learn new things and meeting new people. New faces and places excite me! I also believe that continuing education is very important and that you should never think you know too much. Growing up I was always trying to build things, whether it was a tree house, go-karts, bike jumps, toys, you name it. When I was a sophomore in high school I started a DJ business with my best friend Joe and we kept it going until 2007. I also enjoy working on cars. My first car was a 1984 Camaro. Let’s just say it wasn’t the nicest car in the school parking lot! But over the course of my high school career I rebuilt the car and still have it today. I also have a passion for modeling and acting and am working very hard to further my career in those professions as well. With any luck you will be seeing me in more than just a couple muscle magazines!

What Motivates Me
I possess an enormous amount of positive energy and I have plenty to share with everyone I meet. I believe that nothing in life is free and I have worked very hard to acquire many great friendships and material items along the way. You will never be able to tell me that I cannot do something. In fact, the more you tell me I can’t, the more I will push to succeed. I live my life to the beat of a different drum. To me playing the lottery is a 50/50 shot. You either win or you lose. But I must admit that my family is my main source of motivation. I want to be as successful as I can so that I can give my parents the things they need. I would love to say, “Hey mom, let’s go shopping on me.” or “Hey dad, pack your bags, how about we finally go to Disney World as a family.” My family is the foundation for my success in life and I know they will always be there to support me. I also want to make sure that when the time is right and I decide to start a family on my own, I will be able to provide a good life and offer the support for each family member’s needs. Furthermore, I am a big brother and know that my younger siblings look up to me and seek guidance to be successful in their lives. I want to be able to guide them and anyone else who just might need a helping hand.

Philosophy
My belief is that no matter what kind of physical condition you are in, there is always room for improvement. What drives me to work harder each workout is the thought that I can ascend to a higher level of fitness. I love seeing more muscle definition and veins as I grow stronger. It lets me know that I am pushing myself to the limit every time. However it is very important to make sure that when you push yourself to the limit, that you do it safely. There is no time for an injury when you have goals to reach. That’s why when I train my clients I make each workout unique to the individual and push them to THEIR limit, not mine because not everyone can start out at the same intensity. My clients feel very safe when they are with me for that very reason. They know I will get them to their goal; maybe even further if they are willing to give it their all.

Client Base
My immediate client base includes individuals who are interested in body sculpting whether it is for fat loss (toning) or muscle gain. They will each be taught over a period of weeks or months several customized routines so that they never feel like they hit a plateau with their fitness goals. My clients will also be responsible for following a customized meal plan with foods they like to eat (as long as they are healthy!) because what you put into your body accounts for the majority of your results.

Stand with your feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent, back arched, arms straight out with a straightbar going across your shoulders, and maintain a neutral spine throughout the whole exercise. Once in place twist your torso while keeping your head and hips facing forward as much as you can. Also, keep your arms...

Position your body on the machine so that your spine is in the neutral position and your head is flat on the pad. Also make sure that your back is arched, and your feet are facing each other on the pegs. Hold the handles so that you are in a comfortable position. Most of the time your elbows will be at a 90˚ angle when performing this...

Begin by finding the arms pads that hold you in place. Once hanging, make sure that you have a neutral spine and your feet are together. Next, raise your knees up to your waist so that they are at a 90˚ angle. Slowly return your legs back to the starting position and repeat.
Breathe out as you raise your knees.

I've been training pretty hard for the past year or so and began noticing that my gains had really slowed down. Plus, I had been struggling to cut just a little more body fat.  I had a "diet" mentality and it was (as I later learned) counter-productive.  I felt I was eating very...

Scott has been a good friend of mine for quite a few years now. So when I came to him seeking nutritional advice, he was quick to guide me to his meal plan. It became the precise tool I was needing. I was able to get my calories exactly where I needed them to be. It helped me see...

I was introduced to Scott in December 2007.  At that point, I was bored with my workout routine and diet, but I was not sure how to take it to the next level.  I have always been lean and my ultimate goal is to put on muscle mass.  Scott offered me advice on which nutritional foods I...
